A Coronavirus Movie?

Picture it: ten years from now. Masks are a thing of the past, you can hug your old friend, and hand sanitizer isn’t a necessity! How will we remember this awful event of 2020? What would a movie on this event show? Take a look at what our students think the genre of a COVID-19 movie would be!

“For any other people who wouldn’t be alive during this time frame, it would probably be like, science-fiction, ‘cause they wouldn’t believe it exists.” Says anonymous. Well, that is remarkably true and hard to disagree with, It would for sure, take a high place among a long line of documentaries too!

“It depends on who it’s from, ‘cause for me, it would be comedy just because of-- haha!-- like all the weird stuff I’ve been doing!” Says Yasmeen Rodriguez. What a way to look at it! A movie like that, I’m sure, would have innumerable hilarious references. Lockdown has made us try out yoga, new pizza recipes, and so much more! Look at what you’ve turned me into, quarantine!

“I think the genre would be… somewhere between… horror and mystery. ‘Cause a ton of random things started happening.” Says Anonymous. Very True! That too would take a high place among the long line of horror movies as well. A movie like that would get me hooked for sure!

“Horror.” Ian Hunt says with a chuckle, “‘Cause so many things went wrong!” Can’t argue with that! It seems the poll leans towards horror, which absolutely could be the case with some movies being made in the future. Well the opinions vary quite nicely among our students. To be quite honest, it seems any genre would work with documenting this worldwide event! Do you agree with our students’ ideas?
