Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Do you enjoy listening to music? If your answer is “yes”, then Oak Ridge’s Music Boosters has a great opportunity for you! Stop by the 15th Annual Coconut Club Fundraiser on January 28th! There will be dinner, an auction, and a show performed by ORHS students themselves. Students will be performing songs from the fundraiser’s 1940’s era theme, such as So This Is Love (composed by Jerry Livingston, Al Hoffman, and Mack David), My Way (composed by Jacques Revaux), La Vie En Rose (originally sung by Edith Piaf), All Shook Up (sung originally by Elvis Presley), and Fly Me to the Moon (composed by Bart Howard). Cakes and similar desserts have been donated for the auction as well. The fundraiser will take place from 6-10 PM at the Folsom Community Center on Natoma Street. Tickets can be purchased on the Oak Ridge Music Boosters website. Keep an eye out for future performances and fundraisers by our school’s music department as well! Upcoming is the band program’s Java and Jazz, Choir and Band’s annual PRISM performance, and Choir’s Spring Concert. Your support for Oak Ridge’s VAPA programs is always appreciated in order to keep our arts programs thriving.
