Every year close to 2,000,000 people in America are diagnosed with cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, about 606,520 of those lives are taken away. American Cancer Society is a charity that donates its profits to helping the 1.8 newly diagnosed patients, the 14 million cancer survivors, and the families that are going through these difficult processes. *‘American Cancer Society’ is a great charity to donate money to in order to help with this issue.
Similar to last month's article, another issue taking place in our world today is world hunger. According to NPR News more than “9 million people have been dying of world hunger each year and this number will only go up with the influence of Covid-19” A few good charities to donate to in order to try and prevent this issue includes: *‘Action Against Hunger’ and *‘Feeding America.’
Admittedly another issue taking place around the world is homelessness. According to the National Alliance, “It is estimated that 553,742 people in the United States experience homelessness on a given night”. This issue affects many people every day, and with the rise of Covid-19, many more people are faced with the risk of homelessness. To help stop this issue you can donate to *‘Carpenters Shelter’ or *‘Crisis.’
